As per new guidelines of IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India), health insurance companies will now cover testing of genetic diseases or disorders, under a standard health insurance policy. Patients with genetic disorders can take the benefit of quality medical treatment and care without having to worry about the expense.
