Precision medicine is commonly referred to as personalized medicine. It is a new, developing area of healthcare that combines genomics, population health, and big data analytics. It is one of the most promising frontiers for finding cures to human diseases. Diseases like cancer, rare genetic disorders, and many neurodegenerative diseases are now being investigated using personalized medicine.

Pharmacogenomics, on the other hand, deals with how the genomic makeup of an individual affects the body’s reaction to drugs. It is a combined field of genomics and pharmacology.
